BitPDF processes PDFs on your Mac. Pocket Bits LLC does not receive your documents through the app.
App data
BitPDF has no user account, advertising, analytics SDK, tracking or cloud document service. PDF editing and English OCR run locally using the bundled PDF engine and Apple Vision. The app does not collect or transmit document content, usage analytics or personal information to Pocket Bits.
Local storage and file access
BitPDF uses the macOS App Sandbox. You choose which files it may open or save. It stores a private working copy, unsaved recovery copies, text drafts and a security-scoped bookmark for recent file access in its app container. Recovery includes the document filename and original-file hash so the app can detect conflicts. Temporary processing files are removed after operations. A completed save or explicit discard clears the active recovery record; unverified recovery files may be retained in a private recovery archive for troubleshooting. You may remove local app data by deleting the app's container when BitPDF is closed; export any unsaved work first.
Apple services and printers
App Store purchases and any system diagnostics you choose to share with Apple follow Apple's policies. BitPDF sends print jobs only when you choose to print, using macOS and your selected printer. Choosing an external link may open your browser.
